INNOVATIVE SYSTEM FOR CHEMICAL WASTE DEGRADATION IN FRUIT AND VEGETABLE PROCESSING PLANTS

Fruit and vegetable plants use phytosanitary products in post-harvest treatments to extend the shelf life and avoid rotting problems in citrus fruits. The water resulting from these treatments must be properly managed in accordance with the legal requirements established by the public wastewater treatment body (EPSAR) for this type of discharge. For the treatment of organic matter reduction and degradation of post-harvest chemicals, we have designed a complete system based on ozone equipment, which is a clean, economical and very effective treatment, as no consumables or wastewater manager is required. It is a high generation and concentration ozone equipment for the treatment of waste water from both the drencher or treatment ponds and the fruit washers to reduce organic matter and the degradation of the residual post-harvest chemical products.
